Dear potential Au Pair,
We are so excited to get to know you and for you to get to know us!
We are a young family based in Avon, CT looking for an au pair to spend time with our children and dog. My husband and I work full-time: I will be in the office Mondays through Fridays locally, while my husband will work partly from home and several days out of town every week. We would need help with the children’s and dog’s morning and evening routines on the weekdays and would greatly appreciate limited babysitting on some weekends. Our family is generally laid back and understanding, and would love to have someone who wants to become a part of our family during your stay!
We have a 2.5-year-old sweet and sociable little girl whose current hobbies include pretending and/or actually helping to cook and bake in her pretend or actual kitchen; taking walks with our family dog; trying to help take care of babies or other children; and reading plenty of picture books. She gets along very easily with other caretakers, including her current nanny, new babysitters and teachers. By the time you would join our family, she will be just about three years old.
We are currently expecting our second daughter in the beginning of March; she will be close to 5 months by the time you join our family.
We also have a sweet and snuggly 15-pound King Charles Cavalier-poodle mix who loves to spend his time going on walks, napping, playing tug-of-war or ‘fetch’ with his family, and stealing snacks and leftovers from our toddler.
We will have a separate large bedroom with a private bathroom, walk-in closet, and a partially private staircase to your living area. We are located roughly 12 minutes from a lively and young downtown area with shopping, entertainment and eating options; 2 hours from New York City and 2 hours from Boston.

Duties:
- Helping toddler and baby get up and ready for their day (breakfast, brushing teeth, getting dressed): 6-7:30 AM
- Helping to prepare toddler and baby meals for the day: 12-1PM
- Helping to prepare toddler and baby for sleep (dinner, baths, getting dressed): 5:30-8:30 PM
- Helping to walk dog: 7:30-8AM, 1-1:30 PM, 5-5:30 PM
- Babysitting on Sunday mornings: ~8:30AM-12:30PM
