Au Pair's Message to Families

My names is Tykita and I enjoy working with children of all ages. This means meeting the needs of infants, singing silly songs and learning the ABC’s with toddlers, helping school-aged children with homework and relaxing after a long day at school, and mentoring pre-teens. I strongly believe in following a child’s lead and treating children as the intelligent little people whom they are. I try to avoid television, as there are so many mind-stimulating activities for children at every stage of development, there’s never really a need for TV. I would teach children to use their words when they are upset or frustrated is so important to calmly discuss whatever offense has taken place and rationally work out the consequences. I am certified in infant/child CPR and first aid. I have experience with special-needs children. I offer play dates with friends when time and whether permits. It's very important for kids to interact with many other children and learn the dynamics of socializing.
