During our absence at Christmas, Shelley had many people stay in our home and had a party without our permission. Many details of which we found documented on her pages of the couch surfing website. These were people she barely knew. We later discovered things had been broken and gone missing. She also used our car to drive one of her "guests" to the airport and left $2000 worth of damage. She claimed to have insurance to cover the damage and then fled the country. Shelley is the type of person that lives in the moment. I don't think Shelley actually intends to deceive people, she just does not think of the consequences and then ends up lying to cover the damage she has done. We wish Shelley well and hope she finds what she wants out of life without leaving too much damage in her wake.
