| Dear family, I am an experienced au pair looking for long-term work in the Washington, DC area or short-term work anywhere in the world. I recently returned from Switzerland where I worked as an au pair for 15 months. My primarily responsibilities were the care of a three-year-old child, laundry and ironing, light cleaning and tidying up, and occasional pet care. I am also an excellent baker (according to the Swiss family) and enjoy cooking. If needed I can also provide English tutoring and help with piano lessons and reading music. My experience as an au pair was extremely positive and as a result I am interested in finding another au pair job.
I graduated from the University of Virginia in May of 2006 with a B.A. in French and History. I have experience tutoring children in reading and math and I enjoy helping children learn foreign languages (I am proficient in French and have also studied Modern Standard Arabic and Spanish).
I have two younger siblings and have extensive childcare experience with children of all ages. One of my summer jobs was caring for 7-year-old twin boys which included planning activities, preparing meals, and transporting them to practices, friends' homes etc. and in high school I frequently babysat for friends and family as well as for church and community events. I love kids and welcome the opportunity to get to know a family well.
I love traveling and have traveled extensively in the U.S. and Europe and have spent time in Quebec (Canada), China, and Morocco. I am open to new cultures and environments and enjoy experiencing new things.
I was classically trained in piano and music is an integral part of my life. My other hobbies include outdoor activities such as hiking and I enjoy reading books from a variety of genres.
I am available to work for your family until August 2010. In September I plan to resume my university studies in order to obtain a law degree. I am extremely responsible, organized, and honest. I have multiple references available upon request and I look forward to hearing from you! |
